My car has been had the led daytime running lights removed by a WOF inspector for the spurious reason that aftermarket led drls have been outlawed in NZ. I am not aware of any recent changes to the vehicle lighting regulations in NZ. The drls fitted were proper Hella items and have been installed on the car for about 10 years and have always passed previous WOF inspections.
Is the inspector correct, or is he a shyster?
Hi there,
The WoF ruling on the DRL can be found here- there doesn't seem to be a rule preventing the fitment of DRL as long as the requirements are met. https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/lighting/daytime-running-lamps
