Ask an expert
Hello,
I’ve bought a van Mazda E2500 2.5 Diesel (year 2003) and I was wondering if my engine is an interference or non-interference one. I’ll maybe have to change my cam belt in 10 000kms that’s why I’m wondering.
Here is some details of my van that could help you to answer my question:
- VIN: JM0SKY0W100113777
- Plate: BGY138
- Engine No: WL474453
- CC rating: 2,499cc
- Fuel type: Diesel
- MVMA Model Code: SH96 RAC
Thanks a lot in advance for your answer.
Regards,

Hi there,
The WL diesel engine is listed as interference, so caution is required,
Are you 100% sure about that? Because after some researchs on the Internet some people say this should be a non-interference one... That’s why I’m a bit confused.
I received this information from a cambelt book. I also wouldn't want to take the chance, better to assume that damage will occur if the cambelt breaks.
