Hi,
I'm having trouble seeing out the front windowscreen when it is wet & I'm using the wipers, particularly at night. There is a film that covers the window for a few seconds.
Couple of years ago I gave the outside of my front windscreen a good clean with Bars bugs windscreen cleaner. It didnt completely do the job. I have had the garage have a look at it a couple of times. The 1st time they changed the wipers, but I still get the film when a use the wipers. It is worse at night when I've got traffic coming towards me.
Have you any suggestions as to what I can use, or do to clear my windows. Thanks, Leslie

It may pay to use some methylated spirits and newspaper to clean the screen inside and out also try a new set of wiper blades. If you are still having issues some time after that there could be a tree or factory close to where the vehicle sits that could be contaminating the glass.

Thanks, just tried meths & newspaper - window screen looks pristine until it rains & I use the wipers & it now looks even worse. The wipers were renewed about a year ago. Have to say that my car has spent most of its life (some years) parked on the roadside exposed to all the howling southerlies & mostly I have had no problems with seeing out the windscreen on these wet days. A couple of years ago I shifted & was able to park it in a more sheltered spot. For the last few months it has been parked inside a garage. So any other suggestions on how I can improve the visibility during wet dark nights?

You could try silicone wiper blades. My best friend in Australia swears by them.
Silicone blades apply microscopic amounts of silicone with every wipe of the windscreen. Causes water to bead and shed off the windscreen. The water will not smear causing a blurry and unclear layer of water on the windscreen.
