I have just bought an imported 2007 Toyota Ractis which came with only one remote. I have been told that the local Toyota dealer can supply one for about $360. I've looked on Trade Me and they are a similar cost. I bought the car from a yard associated with the local Toyota dealership. What are my rights regarding getting a second key? I can accept/understand not getting an owners manual in English, but would have thought two sets of keys are a standard sort of thing when supplying a car. Thank you.

Hi there,
It is common to have at least two or three keys with a new car, but with an imported vehicle it is a bonus if two keys are available.
There is no harm in asking for a second key but there would not be an obligation to supply.
