Do AA Auto Centre outlets have a place to wait while my car's being serviced?
Yes. We provide a comfortable lounge where you can relax with a cup of tea or coffee while we look at your car.

Can AA Auto Centre provide a quote or estimate for a specific part or job?
Yes - in some situations we can do this on the phone. For a more accurate quote come in and see us. We'll look at the part or repair and assess the work involved.

Which vehicle service should I choose for my car?
Our levels of servicing are designed to meet the varying needs of cars no matter their age, condition or history and all our work is protected by our warranty. Even if your car is used very little, it still pays to have it serviced regularly as many parts degrade even when not in use.

What happens if my car needs additional work from the service?
If during the service or repair the technician uncovers the need for additional work our AA Auto Centre will contact you to discuss the findings, provide you with an estimate and ask if you would like to proceed with the recommendations.

Do you use high quality parts?
Yes. All parts used by AA Auto Centres are on an AA approved basis and must meet manufacturers Original Equipment (OE) quality standards. All new parts are guaranteed for 12 months or 20,000km - whichever is sooner.

Do you use high quality oil?
Yes. We only use Castrol and Vertex oils as standard for our services. Both Castrol and ELF are well placed to offer the best quality oil to look after your engine, prolong its life and run as efficiently as possible.

Do you offer a manufacturer's service or a log book service?
Yes if you would like to have a manufacturer's service instead of one our menu services, please contact your local AA Auto Centre for an estimate specific to your vehicle.

Repairs

What repairs do you carry out?
We carry out a full range of mechanical and electrical repairs. Common repairs we undertake include braking, steering & suspension, cambelt replacement, clutch replacement, battery testing and replacement, cooling systems, electrical sensor testing and replacement.

What is a Warrant of Fitness (WoF)?
A Warrant of Fitness is a regular check to ensure your car is safe to drive on the road. It’s compulsory for light vehicles (cars, station wagons, vans, 4WDs, SUVs, light trucks), trailers and motorcycles.

How soon can you see my car?
To book a WoF inspection either call us on 0800 456 654, book online or call into one of our sites. Where possible we will fit you in or organise a booking for you. We will generally be able to book your car in on the same or the next day. All AA Auto Centres nationwide offer Warrant of Fitness inspections.

How long will the WoF inspection take?
The WoF inspection will take between 25-35 minutes. You can wait and have a free coffee or tea in our comfortable waiting area or you can drop your car off.

What is checked in a WoF inspection?
As a WoF agent, AA Auto Centres follow the vehicle inspection requirements manual (VIRM) in which requirements are defined and monitored by NZ Transport Association. The Warrant of Fitness inspection includes tyre condition, brake operation, structural condition, lights, doors and windows, windscreen washers and wipers, safety belts and airbags, speedometer, steering and suspension and exhaust and fuel system.

What if my car fails?
If your vehicle fails a WoF inspection, you're not allowed to drive it on the road unless it's being operated solely for the purpose of obtaining a new WoF – regardless of whether your old WoF has expired or not. We can fix all the items that require attention.
Your vehicle can be re-inspected by the same WoF agent at no extra charge within 28 days of the initial WoF inspection. If you go over the 28 days from the initial inspection, you will need to have a new WoF inspection and pay the fee again.
