Executive Leadership Team

The AA’s Executive Leadership Team is led by Chief Executive Nadine Tereora.

Nadine Tereora

Nadine Tereora - Chief Executive Officer

Nadine was appointed Chief Executive in February 2022. She recognises the importance of the service culture, which is at the heart of the AA, and has a natural drive towards customer innovation.

Prior to joining the AA, Nadine was Chief Operating Officer at Partners Life, the second-largest insurance company in New Zealand, and assumed the role after four years as the CEO of Fidelity Life from 2016 to 2020.

Nadine’s 2014 appointment to Asteron Life, where she served as CEO and Executive General Manager, distinguished her as the first female CEO of a Suncorp Group company, just as she is also the AA’s first female CEO.

 

Jonathan Sergel

Jonathan Sergel - Chief Mobility Officer

Jonathan joined the AA in January 2020 on the back of three decades of experience in the motor industry as General Manager of Motoring Services where he held responsibility for a myriad of AA services related to buying, owning and selling vehicles, such as the AA Auto Centre Network, Vehicle Inspections and free Motoring Advice for AA Members.

In December 2022, he was appointed Chief Mobility Officer, a newly established role introduced to further develop the AA’s core vehicle, driving and mobility services, build more sustainable options and ensure the AA keeps pace with the evolution of mobility.

Prior to joining the AA, Jonathan was Head of Cars for Turners Group which included operational responsibility for the 13 branches in the Turners Cars network, managing supplier relationships within New Zealand and Japan and Turners Finance. He has also owned his own rental car business and had roles with Smith and Smith Glass and LeasePlan.

 

Simon Douglas

Simon Douglas - Chief Policy & Advocacy Officer

Simon’s role encompasses everything the Government and its transport agencies do that affects motorists and AA Members including road safety and infrastructure, transport funding (including fuel excise, road user charges, regional fuel taxes), speed limits, traffic enforcement, environmental issues and petrol prices.

Prior to joining the AA in 2012, Simon was an Executive of Tourism New Zealand, and held roles at the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Tourism and Beca Engineering.

 

Steph Creasy 2024

Stephanie Creasy - Chief Technology Officer

Stephanie Creasy joined the AA as Chief Technology Officer in December 2024, bringing extensive experience in technology, digital strategy, and product innovation.

Her impressive career includes roles at ANZ, Deloitte, Digital Arts Network, and Genesis where she led innovation, growth, and new services initiatives, driving New Zealand's transition to sustainable energy solutions.

With a deep passion for leveraging technology to enable innovation and sustainable growth, Stephanie is well-positioned to advance the AA's digital capabilities and support our strategic priorities. Her leadership, collaborative ethos and ability to inspire teams have been widely recognised by peers, colleagues, and leaders.

 

Greig Leighton

Greig Leighton - Chief Partnerships Officer

Greig was appointed Chief Partnerships Officer in December 2022 and holds responsibility for developing all areas where the AA partners to meet Member’s needs, including our varied insurances portfolio, travel and tourism services, and our support for AA Home.

He first worked for the AA in 2016 when he was contracted to turn the AA Home concept into a reality and after his success here, he then spent almost five years as AA General Manager of Travel & Tourism, where he brought the previously separate AA Travel and AA Tourism businesses together under one structure and oversaw AA’s partnerships with accommodation, tourism, rental vehicle and transport providers.

Prior to the AA, Greig held management positions at multiple airlines, including Air New Zealand, and was the CEO of Stella Travel Services (NZ) for seven years.

 

Jenni Ryan

Jenni Ryan - Chief Marketing Officer

Jenni joined the AA in May 2023 and leads the team dedicated to connecting and engaging with our AA Members.

She is an experienced executive with four years as the CEO of the Skin Institute Group, and a decade working at The Warehouse Group focused on Brand and Marketing, including some time as Chief Customer Officer.

She joined the AA following an interim role as Chief Customer Officer at My Food Bag, where she has led successful teams focusing on understanding, engaging with, and enhancing customer experience.

 

Kath Woollard

Kath Woollard - Chief Experience Officer

Kath joined the AA in September 2022. She has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services sector having held executive roles at several organisations including Gallagher Bassett, Sovereign and most recently Fidelity Life where she spent three years as Chief Insurance Officer.

Kath’s focus as the AA’s Chief Experience Officer, is on aligning Member touchpoints to deliver a consistent customer experience across the country.

 

John Ramaekers

John Ramaekers - Chief Financial Officer

John joined AA Central (Wellington) in July 1989. He became General Manager Finance in 1991 following a series of mergers that brought the 15 independent AA’s together to establish one AA in New Zealand.

John has overall responsibility for Finance, managing Financial and Management Reporting, Audit, Tax and Treasury for the Association, including its wholly owned subsidiaries as well as a number of its Joint Ventures.

Prior to joining the AA John held financial management roles in the car and computer industries.

 

Mark Savage

Mark Savage - Chief Strategy Officer

Mark became Chief Strategy Officer in April 2022. He is responsible for developing, communicating, and executing the AA's overarching strategy and plan in conjunction with the AA Board, CEO and Executive Leadership Team.

Prior to this role, Mark was the AA's General Manager Channel Strategy & Delivery with responsibility for AA Personal Insurances as well as our 36 AA Centres and Hamilton Contact Centre.

 Vicki Caisley

Vicki Caisley - Chief People Officer

Vicki joined the AA as Chief People Officer in November 2023 and is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the people and culture strategy, ensuring our 1000+ team across New Zealand is set up to successfully deliver the AA strategy as well as ensuring the AA remains an employer of choice. 

Vicki is a senior human resources executive with expertise in operating model design, transformation and supporting leadership teams through strategy execution and culture change.

Prior to joining the AA, she held executive leadership positions across the health, financial services, and not for profit sectors and most recently Vicki was Chief People & Strategy Officer at Southern Cross Health Society for 10 years.

Vicki was a Commissioner with the NZ Fire Service, is a Board Director of Q Theatre and holds an Executive MBA with distinction. She was added to the Insurance Business Elite Women list in 2022.

 Marcus McClosky

Marcus McClosky – General Counsel and Company Secretary

Marcus joined the AA in April 2024 and heads up the legal team, comprising the in-house lawyers and external legal partners.

Marcus’ recent role was at Fidelity Life where he worked for 13 years, including six years as General Counsel and Company Secretary.

Marcus has over 20 years’ experience in the delivery of legal services and corporate governance, spanning financial services, including life insurance, KiwiSaver, superannuation and investment products, NZX-listed debt security and financial advice regulation, as well as general corporate, commercial, project, and governance work.
