Board
The Board is appointed by the National Council and has delegated authority to oversee the Association’s commercial activities. Board members are appointed for three year terms and retire by rotation, while the President and Vice President are elected annually. The President cannot maintain the role for more than three consecutive years. Those members retiring by rotation are eligible to re-stand. The Board meets on a monthly basis.
Mark Winger, President
Mark was appointed President of the Association in March 2023. He was first appointed a Member of the Board on its formation in 1993. He is an Auckland-based commercial lawyer. Mark is a Member of the Auckland and Northland AA District Councils. He was instrumental in the creation of the Waikato AA District Council in 1991 and the creation of the Northland AA District Council in 1997.
Brett Flintoff, Vice President
Brett was appointed a Member of the Board in 2010 and has been a Member of the Southland District Council since 2003. A Chartered Accountant, Brett has owned his private accountancy firm since 1994.
Steven Grant
Steven has been a Member of the Auckland District Council since 2003, has represented the Auckland District on the National Council, and has been a member of the Board since 2014. Steven has a background in law and investment banking, and is currently an investment banking consultant.
Lyndsay Tait
Lyndsay was appointed a Member of the Board in 2002. A Chartered Accountant, Lyndsay has owned his private accountancy firm since 1991 and has been a Member of the Whanganui District Council since December 1988.
Andrew McKillop
Andrew has been a Member of the Waikato District Council since 1996, has represented the Waikato District on the National Council and was elected to the Board in 2017. Andrew has a background in traffic engineering and infrastructure management.
Michelle Corse-Scott
Michelle has been a member of the AA Auckland District Council since 2008, a member of the AA National Council since February 2016, and is a trustee of the AA Research Foundation. Michelle was appointed to the Board in March 2020. She is an experienced financial services lawyer and risk and compliance specialist.
Roger Carter
Roger was appointed a Member of the Board in March 2020. He has been an AA South Canterbury District Councillor since 2007 and their Chair and AA National Council representative since 2010. He is self-employed as a registered valuer.
Graham Judge
Graham was appointed a Member of the Board in 2020. A Chartered Accountant, Graham was a Partner at Deloitte for 34 years, specialising in Audit and Financial Due Diligence and subsequently became CFO of Fisher & Paykel Appliances group. He has been professionally associated with the Association since 1996.
Paul Michaelsen
Paul was appointed a Member of the Board in March 2023. He has been an AA Member for over 30 years and on the AA Hawkes Bay District Council for 10 years, holding the role of Chair and AA National Council representative for 5 years prior to his appointment to the Board. Paul has a been in the banking and finance industry for over 30 years and is a self-employed Financial Adviser.
