PetrolWatch - November 2009 No price changes for a month

AA PetrolWatch spokesperson Mark Stockdale says "it's the first time since June 2007 that prices have not moved in a calendar month. It's also the longest run without a price change since April 2009, when prices were stable for six weeks."

PetrolWatch - October 2009. Higher oil prices and a lower dollar force pump prices up

According to AA PetrolWatch, the price of diesel rose eight cents to $1.08 per litre during October. A litre of 91-octane petrol rose 11 cents to $1.66 in the main centres, three cents of which was due to the increase in petrol excise on 1 October.

AA responds to Northern Gateway Toll Road report

AA spokesman Simon Lambourne says "it's fantastic to see so many motorists taking advantage of the toll road, and of course less congestion and improved safety on the alternative free SH17 Hibiscus Coast road. The technology which reads the license plates is impressive and we are very pleased to see that the road's debt repayment is ahead of schedule."

PetrolWatch - September 2009. High Kiwi dollar gives motorists price cuts

According to AA PetrolWatch, the price of a litre of 91-octane petrol fell from $1.69 to $1.55 in the main centres, with diesel down from $1.07 to $1.00 per litre. These are the lowest fuel prices since May 2009.

AA Traffic moves to in-car navigation traffic updates

Broadcasting across the FM radio band, real time traffic information will be sent to in-car navigation units that support the traffic management channel (otherwise known as TMC). Navman will provide the first in-car navigation units to support this in New Zealand on their new MY series range due in August.
