Bright, bold promotional graphic with a yellow background featuring white radiating stripes. In the center, large black text on an orange banner reads: “We’re on the lookout for Aotearoa’s Lollipop Legends.” On the left, a circular orange lollipop graphic displays the words “Lollipop Legends” in playful white lettering with a small “AA” logo in the middle. On the right, a black circular badge contains white text that says: “Two $10k grants up for grabs!” The overall design is colourful, high-contrast, and energetic, suggesting a nationwide initiative or competition.

Lollipop Legends winners

Thank you to everyone who entered the AA’s Lollipop Legends competition.

We were blown away by the response, receiving more than 400 entries from schools across Aotearoa.

After careful consideration from our judges at the AA, NZ Police, New Zealand Transport Agency and SASTA (Safe and Sustainable Transport Association), we're proud to announce Aranui Primary School in Whanganui as our North Island winner, and Whitney Street School in Blenheim as our South Island winner.

The judges were inspired by the schools' visions to create safe spaces where students can ride bikes and scooters while developing valuable road safety skills they can take beyond the school gates.

We love to see initiatives in our communities that help young Kiwi learn, grow and travel safely, and we’re delighted to support both schools with a $10,000 grant to help bring their idea to life.

Congratulations to our winners and thank you again to every school that took the time to send us their nomination, share their safety ideas and celebrate our Kiwi road patrol heroes.
